Planning graduation parties for your children can be difficult, but the smiles on their faces make it all worth it. Graduation is an achievement that deserves a party! Picking out graduation party invitations was the first step in the party planning, and as such was given a lot of time and attention. We went through all the options before we picked out a card.

My son suggested we pick a card that included his school’s colors, red and gray. This decision made the selection so much easier! We narrowed down the selection to a few cards and took a photo of him in his (red and gray) varsity jacket. It was a great photo and we played with the different cards, inserting the picture into the photo boxes and changing the text. We eventually decided to go with the “Stay In Line Graduation Invitation Cards” because they included red in the design, we could change the text to gray, and the notebook paper theme was so perfect for our son – we couldn’t resist!
This was the only card that all three of us agreed on, as my son loves to write and the vintage photo corners were just too cool. My sister thought my son’s idea of getting photo graduation invitations in school colors was brilliant. Next year, when my niece graduates middle school, you can bet my sister will be ordering graduation invitations in that school’s colors. “It’s such a nice way to celebrate school spirit,” she told my son at his party, and I agreed.

I have received numerous baby birthday party photo invitations and every one of them has brought a smile to my face. Almost all of them have a smiling baby looking back at me. Now if that doesn’t warm the cockles of your heart, then nothing will. One of the cutest ones I received was of a little cherub that had the look of “Are you looking at me?!” Babies never cease to amaze me. If you watch a baby for awhile, you will see that they have many facial expressions. You can tell in a second what they are feeling. One minute happy, the next not so much. Just watch the expression when you feed them squash or prunes. They will go from all smiles to a scrunched up face in a millisecond and then back to all smiles. Now talk about giggling – it works on me every time!

I have decided that babies are natural actors. They can be smiling one moment and giggling wildly the next. They can have teardrops falling and be smiling a second later. They don’t even think about it. There is nothing fake or forced. No acting lessons for them. One really doesn’t have to work very hard to get some wonderful photos for photo party invitations. Just snap away and you will be sure to come up with many. The hardest part will be trying to choose which one to use!

When my children graduated from high school I enclosed their graduation picture in the Christmas cards I sent out that year. I didn’t send out personalized graduation announcements. I never even thought of doing that; in fact, I didn’t even know they existed until I received some from my cousin’s children for their graduations. One family lives in Georgia and the other family lives in South Carolina. I thought it was a southern thing to do! The graduation announcements were beautiful. What a nice memento to have.

I did however give my children’s graduation photos as Christmas gifts that year to the family, framed of course. One of my aunts has two children, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 nephews, 6 nieces, 3 great nephews, 8 great nieces, 2 great-great nephews and that’s only on our side of the family! She has a photo album for each and every one of us. She has everything from birth announcements, photo Christmas cards, photo graduation announcements, and anything else you can imagine. Our whole life in one book!
I love to get pictures of my nieces, nephews and friend’s children to see how they change each year, especially the ones you don’t get to see very often. And what better way than to announce with pride the great success of your children!
