Autographed Mother’s Day Cards

by Nina B. on April 11, 2012

Mother’s Day cards can be a big deal, especially if you’re a first-time recipient! I have to say, the first card I ever received was particularly special for more reasons than one. My little girls, who have since grown up quite a bit, were just starting to develop the concept of writing their names. They were still at the stage of learning how to grip the “foreign” object (their pencil) and did not have the whole concept down packed quite yet.

Mother's Day Cards

That Mother’s Day we went to our favorite restaurant for brunch. As soon as we sat down, I noticed two identical envelopes neatly placed by side by side on the table. I cautiously peeked into each one, and when I caught a glimpse of a recent family photo on the front, I excitedly yanked the cards out of the envelopes.

On the inside were my daughters very first “signatures” which consisted of a few scribbles, and what appeared to be the beginning shape of a heart. I now had not only one great memory, but two! Photo Mother’s Day cards help me to preserve all those once-in-a- lifetime milestones for years to come.

Wow, that is a great idea, with Mother’s day quickly approaching, I will have to try something like this. I will start to go through our boxes of kids stuff tonight in hopes of finding something worthy enough for the picture. Thanks for the idea.

Even if you can’t find a signature your child wrote, just using the old photos will work also. Women really eat this sentimental stuff up! It’s great for getting brownie points!

I have grandchildren now and as ridiculous as it seems I am thinking about the card my 3 and 4 year old grandkids are putting together for me-I really do have a life, really! I can not explain it but the innocence of children’s wishes for me on any holiday are so genuine to me I could cry. Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers and I hope your cards are as great as mine and Nina’s
