It Isn’t Just Pink Photo Birth Announcements for Girls

by Tabitha R. on July 25, 2012

Paper or plastic? Diet or caffeine free soda? Today there are so many choices we make on a daily basis. Add one more to the list. Pink or blue? Yellow or green? Which color do you choose for photo birth announcements for girls? It’s not just plain pink anymore or the stork holding that new delivery. Times they are a changing and plain old teddy bears are a thing of the past. Just like the anxious expectant father smoking a cigar in the hospital lounge. Ah, the days of yesteryear are gone. And the answer to paper or plastic is neither. How dare you not bring your own cloth bags from home you earth spoiler!

Birth Announcements for Girls

We have come a long way from simple baby carriages and safety pins. A great way to keep in touch today is to send pictures of your recent addition to family and friends as photo announcement cards. It’s more personal than you’re facebook page. Sorry to disappoint the soccer moms. As for borders and backgrounds, there is a lot to choose from. We still have pink bows and polka dots. Bunnies, butterflies, and flowers are traditional and classic. And watch out ladies of New Jersey, the leopard print is still hot and trendy. Yeah buddy!

Now, the array of photo birth announcements for boys is extensive as well. Modern prints of green or yellow are cool. Old bomber planes and trucks are a timeless choice. Animals are always a popular pick. Giraffes, elephants and even owls are hip right now. I always had a soft spot for the vintage cowboys and Indians. It reminds me of the wallpaper I had in my son’s room. Old retro toys are chic nowadays too. But I have to say the most popular trend I have seen with baby photos is knit caps. I even saw one with the newborn in an actual nest sleeping. I wish I had all these choices when I had my children, but I still would have went with simple blue for a boy and pink for a girl. Like Edith and Archie sang, those were the days.

Dear God! I would never consider putting a birth announcement on Facebook, How impersonal! Do the right thing, send out a quality card, it will speak volumes about you. I wish people would just forget about facebook, and use the phonebook!

I agree, times have certainly changed with everyone using facebook for all types of announcements, so impersonal. Give me the good old days back with a card or announcement thru the mail.

Lots of great ideas here for boys. I have two boys myself. There are many occasions coming up for them where i will need invitations. Photo cards are the way to go for me. I really like the retro toys ideas. Thanks!
