The debate has been raging since my son was born. It shows no signs of letting up but I think there’s a resolution in sight. My mother is sure he looks like her father, “right down to that cute button nose”. My Mother-in-law thinks he looks nothing like my side of the family, and insists he has my wife’s good looks. My wife, bless her heart, quietly whispers he looks like me. I’d like to believe her, but I just never thought babies look like anyone, or anything, except maybe aliens, (no offense, son). I’m not worried; I’m sure he’ll eventually be like his Dad, an amazingly handsome and successful person. Some say the “most interesting man in the world”. Actually, I think I’m the one who said that. Anyway, I’m hoping the photo birth announcements for boys we are sending everyone will help settle the matter. It’s really getting out of hand. Every once in a while even my Dad weighs in and says the baby reminds him of his brother. My Mom thinks he must need his eyeglass prescription adjusted again.
This is our first child, so my wife and I wanted to do something special to let everyone know about the little guy. Besides, she’s got family all over the country and there’s no telling how long it will be before some of them meet him in person. It’s a great family and they’ll all be glad to hear the news. The photo birth announcements will be a wonderful way to get everybody together in spirit, and maybe we can even get a consensus of who he looks like. I should attach a ballot!
Honestly though, it’s all been a lot of fun. I knew it would be great having kids, but I’m still just amazed at how this little person has enriched all our lives.

Good luck with your new son. Babies change every day; sometime he will look like the dad and other days like the mom but bottom line, they look like themselves.
My nephew just turned eight and was the spitting image of my brother when he was born. Now that he is getting older he is showing features of my sister-in-law. His smile and big, bright eyes. Either way he is turning out to be a very handsome young man.
I always used to tell my grandpa that he looked like my newborn. Specifically down to the same number of teeth and hair on the head. That would always get a chuckle out of my grandma.
I agree babies don’t really look like anyone! I get annoyed when people say they look exactly like….
