Wedding Thank You Cards Keep Those Special Memories Alive

by Lola M. on April 25, 2012

Very few things tug on our heart strings like a wedding. The promise of “happily ever after” seems almost unrealistic in today’s world of cynics. But sure to make us feel warm and fuzzy is a picture of the loving couple on their wedding day. There are always a bevy of people trying to get pictures on the day of the wedding, but the best way to bring back those memories is to see the pictures a few weeks later on wedding thank you cards. When you see that picture you can almost hear the wedding music again.

Wedding Thank You Cards

Right about the time memories of that wonderful day are being tucked away in our hearts, the wedding thank you card arrives. Very often the picture on the card is a formal shot of the bridge and groom, very professionally staged, everything just right, but some people have fun with it.

Not that long ago I got wedding thank you photo cards that showed the couple flopped in a chair, sound asleep, presents all around them and you could just tell that although they were exhausted, they had the time of their lives that special day. Another couple I heard about sent cards showing them waving from a car, with a “Just Married” sign and cans tied to the bumper – very retro but it fit with the theme of the wedding. My daughter’s friends sent theirs with a picture of the couple cleaning wedding cake off each others faces, surrounded by a crowd of hysterical friends and family.

The bottom line is that no matter what picture you choose for your wedding thank you photo cards, you want the recipient to remember how wonderful it was to witness the joining of two lives that special day. If that happens to bring a smile to our faces or a chuckle as well, all the better.

“Laughter is the Love of life” That is my motto, and I agree, candid shots are always 100% better than some stuffy forced smile staged shot. The picture above is a perfect example, her guests already saw her in her gown and don’t need another picture of it. To see the couple enjoying themselves is truly what marriage is about.

Funnyman, I agree with you wholeheartedly, it sound like we are cut from the same cloth, my daughter was recently married and their Thank You card was them scuba diving, something they had never done before.

I love candid photos over staged ones. Every year I make family collages out of my candid photos and it has everyone laughing.
